Howdy y'all!
*laughs* oh God, I've been so very very slack =P
By now, school is certainly over, and even though it finished months ago I still get that jittery and excited feeling when I remind myself I no longer have to wake up to it. Christmas came and went, the usual celebrations with the family. Although....I did get one super dooper present...a 10-22mm lens :D :D :D I'm ever so happy with it! I'll upload some shots (to scraps probably) just to show you what it can do. Actually, on a bit of a tangent, I'm thinking about setting up a new account. One that sells prints and only contains decent shots; decent shots that should hopefully be coming in all this year, as I was successful in gaining entry into an Advanced Diploma of Photography course :D w00pty! :w00t:. I honestly didn't think I had much of a chance - I had to sit through an interview, present a few portfolios, and gain sufficient points from school results. All the while competing with hundreds of other wannabe photographers, from interstate too! Nevertheless the final 24 were chosen, and I was on the list! Needless to say I was very happy, so some friends and I drank copious amounts of coffee, ran to the beach and frolicked amongst the jellyfish, (literally). Speaking of such surprises, I was happy with my school results too. Despite my sometimes negligent nature (i.e. LAZY) I still managed to make it into the top 10% of the state. The ironic thing is, I only need that score for university, not the course I'm doing =P ah well, it's there if people ask.
Enough blowing my own horn.
Recently I travelled down to Tasmania for a week (the big island underneath the really big island that is my country). Maybe I will submit some pictures (of course I took my camera) seeing as this account will now be a little less 'professional'. I had a blast of a time! It was Tori's 18th birthday while I was there (the girly I travelled with), so we had a party with heaps of food and booze. I was taken around to lots of touristy spots, such as the Cadbury Chocolate factory, Snug falls, Subway...mmm chicken. The rest of the time was spent chilling, but I enjoyed it just as much, maybe even more, making new friends and avoiding sleep to watch cartoons and play pool.
...well, AT LEAST I BEAT TOM!...
Anyone’s who's met me probably knows how bad at pool I am. Well, bad for someone with their own pool table who should know much better. It's a sad, sad case. But just think how much that makes Tom suck! bwahaha.
Thanks to Tori and Erin who let me stay in their wonderful homes, eat their food, use their veg oil for prawn crackers, and burn big sticks in their backyard. Oh, and thanks to Dave for the Sundae! The best I've ever had =) I was so excited, I spilt chocolate ice cream all over me - it was that good!
Or maybe I'm just an unco.
That adventure sadly ended two weeks ago, I wish I could have stayed longer, and since then not a whole lot worth mentioning has happened. I had a pool party, and Oh! I'm going to the Big Day Out this Friday. That's news. Lots of bands, sweat, sunscreen and backache. Good times =) Here's to hoping I don't get skin cancer!
Righty then my cherubs, that's my quarterly update - haha. Nah don't worry, I plan to write more frequently as well as submit more when I start cranking out the photos for assignments and the like. Let me hear about your holidays then! Go on, what have you been up to? Gone away, or done anything special? oo oo, here's a good question: what was/were your new years resolution(s)? That reminds me, I'll upload some pics from new years too =) that was a great party - thanks Tor!
Okay, enough crapping on, until next time guys ;-)

:) Working holidays. I was busy finishing a big metal & glass "wall" for a staircase. Ended it in January and right about this week the final piece will go in place. Since my dA account is not 'professional' (it never was ;P ) you won't see that kind of stuff here, but I'll show them to you in other ways than dA. Anyway, New Years was boring. I got some photos of the crowd and fireworks.. kinda lame... Well Romania is a part of the European Union starting this year so people were celebrating that too at the countdown. But I expected something more interesting. No new years resolution for me thank you! :D
I'm working on setting up some exhibitions with a bunch of young artists in my area.. and the tricky part is finding good places for our artworks.
Congratulations for the Photo Class thing! I think you'll do great stuff with the camera. You have it in you.
